The time difference between Pablo and I (San Diego and Santiago), right now, is 3 hours, he is 3 hours later. For the other half of the year it goes up to 5 hours. Given “cultural” differences and the fact that I just go to bed early, 3 hours is kinda perfect. Last night I got home from a friends house at 10:30 and Pablo was still hanging out with his mom and brother (1:30am!!). I wake up early, Pablo sleeps in. Basically, the time difference makes up for lifestyle difference. But, being long distance during the 5 hours difference was a lot harder, and definitely would have sucked if Pablo was working full time. Can’t wait to see how/if I adjust to the “late” culture.. eating dinner late, going out late, etc.
I shot an engagement down in Coronado today.. I haven’t been there much so didn’t know of any secret good spots or anything, but the bridge and city made great back drops. I can’t tell which edit I like of the last one:: one is desaturated.
Today I shot two weddings and holy crap my hand and wrist are sore! I took more than 3500 photos! At one I was only the second photographer and I showed up just after the ceremony. The first one, Charlie and Tiffany’s, was on a boat which sailed out to Coronado for the pretty casual ceremony and exchanging of vows which included lots of kissing and laughing. Then I headed up to Carlsbad to catch Sonya and Craig’s wedding.. which was full of dancing and adorable kids! Here is a bit from each:
